  Programme Information
About the Programme : The program of architecture aims to raise students’ awareness of the tasks, duties and responsibilities of an architect through 4-year undergraduate program covering architectural design, building construction, building physics, building technology, history of architecture, urban conservation, basic design, design methodology, ecological and sustainable design, building programming and evaluation, construction and management economy, site management and operations, building materials, controlling of physical environment, environmental quality, making architectural plans restoration, contemporary building systems, ergonomics in architecture and architectural presentation techniques. The program consists of theoretical and practical courses as well as summer trainings within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and confers the title of "architect" after four years of education. The program has graduated several well-qualified architects who work in both private and state sectors since 1994. 

Qualification Awarded : The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the bachelor’s degree of Architecture. 

Level of Qualification : First Cycle (Bachelor´s Degree) 

Specific Admission Requirements : Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning : In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. This regulation also allows credit transfer between related institutions.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Profile of the Programme : The Bachelor programme of architecture consists of education on theoretical and applied fields focusing mainly on history of architecture, building design, construction design and urban planning, as well as training sessions in an architectural office and a construction site for 20 days each. Our students are required to take selective courses (related and unrelated to the programme) which cover 25% of 240 ECTS in total. The education and research activities of the department are undertaken in fully equipped design, model and material studios and computer laboratories within the campus. Furthermore, there are common laboratories of the Faculty for structural research. Our students have the opportunity to attend student exchange programmes such as ERASMUS and FARABI and also to apply for double major undergraduate programs within the Faculty. The education is supported with technical and cultural trips and also apart from the formal course hours, exhibitions, seminars and conferences are organized for the professional and cultural development of the students.

Occupational Profile of Graduates : The graduates of the program can work for state organizations such as Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning and its local directorates, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, The Bank of Provinces, Municipalities and Universities. They can also work as designer, controller or practitioner in construction firms and architectural offices. 

Access to Further Studies : The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Assessment and Grading : In this program, assessment and grading are conducted according to Cukurova University Education and Assessment regulations for Associate and Undergraduate degrees.

Graduation Requirements : To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Mode of Study : This programme is a Full Time programme.
