  Programme Information
About the Programme : The program aims to train nurses who can increase the quality of health care, serve in world standards with his/her professional knowledge and skills, protect and improve health of individuals, families and community, prevent diseases, provide professional nursing care and rehabilitation services for inpatients and outpatients, is modern and respectful towards basic human rights and independence, and who can solve health problems using scientific knowledge in his/her practices in accordance with the ethical rules related to the profession after completing the four-year program. 

Qualification Awarded : The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the bachelor’s degree of Nursing. 

Level of Qualification : First Cycle (Bachelor’s Degree) 

Specific Admission Requirements : Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning : In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. This regulation also allows credit transfer between related institutions.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Profile of the Programme : The Nursing Program of Adana Health High School was established in 1997. The nursing department has 15 faculty members. Each academic year, the department accepts approximately 300 undergraduate students, 100 of them attending to evening classes. The expected period of completing the undergraduate program is 4 academic years and 8 semesters. The department has a total of 900 undergraduate students. All lectures are given in Turkish in the department, so an English preparatory program is not offered. Nursing is a program that deals with individuals, families, and the community. The graduates have opportunities to work primarily in the public and private hospitals, family health centers, rehabilitation centers, educational institutions as school nurses, in industry and in factories as occupational health nurses, in institutions providing elderly care and home care services, and also in every field that is linked with human.

Occupational Profile of Graduates : The graduates have opportunities to work primarily in the public and private hospitals, in family health centers, and rehabilitation centers, in educational institutions as school nurses, in industry and in factories as occupational health nurses, in institutions providing elderly care and home care services, and also in every field that is linked with human. 

Access to Further Studies : The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Assessment and Grading : In this program, assessment and grading are conducted according to Cukurova University Education and Assessment regulations for Associate and Undergraduate degrees.

Graduation Requirements : To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Mode of Study : This programme is a Full Time programme.
