  Programme Information
About the Programme : Theologt Faculty of Çukurova University was established on July 3, 1992. Theology Faculty admitted the first students in the school year of 1994-1995. Our faculty gives education for four year-license. In our faculty, there is a second program, Department of Teacher of the Religion and Ethics for Primary School, beside Theology Faculty. There is no preparatory year in our undergraduate program. TheologyFaculty consists of the main three academic departments. The first one is Department of the Basic Islamic Sciences: Tafsir, Hadis, Theology, Islamic Law, Islamic Sects, Tasawwuf, and Arabic Language and Rhetoric. The second one is Department of the Philosophical and Religious Sciences: Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Logic, Psychology of Religion, Sociology of Religion, and Religious Education. The third one is Department of Islamic History and Arts: Islamic History, Turkish-Islamic Arts, Turkish-Islamic Literature, Turkish-Religious Music. And our faculty publishes a national peer-reviewed journal, Journal of Divinity Faculty of Çukurova University, two issues a year from 2001. 

Qualification Awarded : The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the bachelor’s degree of Divinity- İlahiyat. 

Level of Qualification : This program is the one that gives education at bachelor´s level (first cycle). 

Specific Admission Requirements : Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning : In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. This regulation also allows credit transfer between related institutions.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Profile of the Programme : To train teachers, religious officials and researchers who are qualified scientifically, cultured, and have the qualifications belonging to exemplary character, and internalize the modern values in the fields of Basic Islamic Sciences, Philosophical and Religious Sciences, and Islamic History and Arts.

Occupational Profile of Graduates : Students who graduated from Theology Faculty can be established in the following fields: 1) Ministry of National Education: Students can become the teacher of religion and ethics in the high schools and the branch teacher in the Imam Hatip High School. 2) Department of Religious Affairs: Students can works in the various units of this department as Imam, preacher, müezzin, mufti, teacher of Qur’an, beside being foreign religious attache and religious advicer. 3) Universities: Sturdents can be an academician in both departments of Theology Faculty. 

Access to Further Studies : The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Assessment and Grading : In this program, assessment and grading are conducted according to Cukurova University Education and Assessment regulations for Associate and Undergraduate degrees.

Graduation Requirements : To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Mode of Study : This programme is a Full Time programme.
