  Programme Information
About the Programme : Environmental Engineering program is a 4 year undergraduate level engineering program. This program has been accepting students since 1992. Students receive both theoretical and applied education with a multidisciplinary approach. Two 30-day summer internships are done by the students in public and/or private firms as a part of degree requirements. There are 7 proffessors, 1 associated proffessor, 2 assistant proffessors, 4 lecturers, 2 research assitants and technical personnel in department.  

Qualification Awarded : The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the bachelor’s degree of Environmental Engineering. 

Level of Qualification : First Cycle (Bachelor’s Degree) 

Specific Admission Requirements : Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning : In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. This regulation also allows credit transfer between related institutions.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Profile of the Programme : Training experts to find, define, formulate and solve the problems in the area of environmental science and engineering; to contribute international research, and also contribute to provide information suitable to the demand of public and also contribute to sustainable development. Environmental engineering, which clearly demonstrate the solution of environmental health problems, as an engineering discipline which provide the public safe and tasty water supply, waste water treatment and solid waste recycling or disposal, in terms of public health, the establishment of necessary infrastructure in cities and rural areas, land , water and atmosphere, the solution of these problems occurring in the social and environmental impacts of contamination control and careful consideration of the control of arthropods transmitted diseases, industrial, hazardous waste disposal, in cities, rural areas, places of recreation and entertainment in the field of public health, such as the provision of adequate health conditions detection of problems in dealing with the impact of technological developments and the surrounding area is an engineering discipline. It is quite important to give environmental engineering education in orderto determine the rapid spreading air, water and soil pollution, which are three main elements that make up the earth. The aim is to create a natural balance while maintaining a healthy and livable environment, in line with advances in technology and sustainable industry

Occupational Profile of Graduates : Engineers graduating from this program receive a multidisciplinary curriculum. Graduates may pursue a career in all public and private sector firms. Industrial engineers work in production planning, quality management, process improvement, information systems, human resources, supply chain management etc. fields. Also, a significant number of industrial engineers prefer working in consulting, academia, research and development institutions.  

Access to Further Studies : The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Assessment and Grading : In this program, assessment and grading are conducted according to Cukurova University Education and Assessment regulations for Associate and Undergraduate degrees.

Graduation Requirements : To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. 

Mode of Study : This programme is a Full Time programme.
