Course Goal / Objective
1) Building on basic computer networking knowledge to an advanced level 2) Teaching the state-of-the-art components of the Internet 3)Having students conduct small scale research in computer networking
Course Content
Internet protocol design philosophies, Domain Name Service and Project Discussion, High Speed Router Design (I), Network Performance Measurements, High Speed Router Design (II), Basic Congestion Control, Fair queuing and variants, End-to-end QoS reservation, Wide area internet routing (BGP), Mobile routing, HTTP and Web issues, Server-based content delivery, Point-to-point content delivery, Security threats
