Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the course is to provide students with an artistic perspective on textile and digital printing techniques, teaching them extensively about the role and uses of these techniques in the art world. Students will explore the textural properties of textile materials and how these materials are utilized within art, understand the role of digital printing in contemporary art practices, and learn how to use these techniques to enhance their own artistic expressions. They will work on topics such as material manipulation, design processes, color management, and surface transformation, developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Additionally, they will learn the basics of design software (such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and experience how artists creatively use these programs. The course will enable students to enhance their skills in artistic expression, critical thinking, and presentation techniques, preparing them for a career in art and design or for further advanced education.
Course Content
The "Digital Printing and Textile Art" course aims to teach the fundamental concepts and history of textile and digital printing art, explore the properties and artistic uses of different textile materials, introduce digital printing techniques, and demonstrate how contemporary artists use these techniques. Additionally, the course aims to teach the use of design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, explain the basics of color theory and color management in digital printing. The course also encourages students to create their own artistic projects and exhibit them using professional presentation techniques, and to work on material manipulation and creative printing solutions. Throughout this process, students are expected to develop their critical thinking skills and artistic expressions.
