General Information

Sports Management Department's program covers a period of five years of training and students enrol in the program through central placement. Department of Sport Management aims to train qualified personnel to serve in schools, universities and sports-related public and private sector institutions as well as making organizations providing recreation and leisure time activities. Graduates of this program can be employed at central and provincial departments of education and services of Youth and Sports General Directorate according to their training and expertise area. They can also work as administrators at the central and provincial organizations, public institutions and organizations; as managers at different levels within the administrative structure of amateur and professional sports clubs; as managers at private gym institutions. In addition to these, graduates can have an active role in the organization and aplication of activities known as "Healthy Living" in the society. They can also be employed as managers at sports agencies, at sports related positions in private and public organizations. Finally they can be assigned to organize sport activities and animation programs in our country's touristic hotels, motels and businesses.

Feature & Definition

Sports Management Department students can graduate after completing at least 240 ECTS theoretical and practical courses at the end of 4 years of education and receive the title of "Sports Manager". Program staff; 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors,3 Lecturers. It consists of a total of 6 academic staff, including Gör. Students are accepted to the Sports Management Department with the placement exam of the higher education center conducted by OSYM with a quota of 55. Students studying at the Sports Management Department can study a Double Major at the Economics Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and at the Faculty of Communication, as well as a Minor at other faculties of the university. With the ERASMUS and MEVLANA Programs, they can experience education and training life abroad, with a maximum of 2 semesters at different universities in the country with the FARABI Program.

Goals

Programin Amaci Sport management program, in parallel with developments in contemporary sport management by considering the operation of the principles of universal and local requirements and social gain knowledge and skills in the field of sport management, Universal besides offering a contribution to scientific studies, entrepreneurial, productive, creative, and able to give direction to change, armed with the characteristics of ethical leadership, Sports aims to train managers.

Objectives

Programin Hedefi Department of sport management, Sport Management in the light of science contributing to the production of knowledge in the field of social and sectoral projects that will meet the expectations develops qualified from a managerial perspective, organization and management skills with the knowledge and skills gained exemplary alumni aims to be a part of.

Specific Admission Requirements

Placement through a centralized national university placement examination (ÖSYS). Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) is responsible to place students according to their ÖSYS scores.

Qualification Awarded

At the end of the program, they can take part in sports management and other sports positions within the framework of the authority granted by law.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

In order to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, it is necessary to have completed 240 ECTS and achieved a general academic average of at least 2.00 according to the quadratic system.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of "Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee", which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Applied Course

Students of the Sports Management Program are able to practice in sports organizations with institutions and organizations that are sports and sports units within the framework of the "Management Experience I and II" courses.

Work Placement

Students studying in the Sports Management Program learn the basic information they learn at school by having experiences in sports organizations in the field.

Double Major, Additional Major & Exchange Possibilities

Students studying at the Sports Management Department can study a "Double Major" at the Economics Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and at the Faculty of Communication, as well as a "Minor" at other faculties of the university. Employment Opportunities

Those who have graduated from the Department of Sport Management, Central and provincial organization of the Ministry of youth and sports in their area of expertise and expert in learning and appropriate service as an administrator of the unit, amateur and professional sports clubs as an administrator at different levels, private and public institutions and local governments of the respective positions as an administrator on any unit of the activities of the organization and practices in tourist hotels, in business, sports organizations, organization, and administration may be employed to perform services. They can manage by opening their own sports centers. In addition, our graduates who pursue a career in the academic field complete their master's and doctoral degrees and work in physical education and sports-related departments of universities.
