General Information

The program of Biostatistics, which used to be a branch within the department of Public Health at Çukurova University Medical Faculty, has been providing education as a department since 1995.In our department where students with MS and PhD degree have been trained since the year it was established, studies on the design, analysis and ,and reporting of scientific research in the field of medicine are carried out.

Feature & Definition

This program provides students education in gaining knowledge and skills in data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation of health-related scientific research at the graduate level. It is also structured to prepare students to pursue doctoral-level training in this field. In the department, there is a study room allocated for graduate students to work independently, a computer laboratory with statistical package programs, a library equipped with biostatistics books and resources.

Goals

In this program, it is aimed to educate science experts who have knowledge and skills in data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation of a health-related scientific research at the graduate level.

Objectives

The aim of the program is to educate science experts who can provide biostatistical consultancy services at national and international level and who can plan an academic career.

Specific Admission Requirements

The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, grade point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.

The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the master’s degree of Biostatistics.

In order to graduate from this programme, the students are required to successfully complete all the courses with a minimum average grade point of 3.00 out of 4.00.

Access to Further Studies

In order to apply for the Biostatistics PhD program, candidates must obtain a Master's degree in Biostatistics. Students who complete this program can apply to the Biostatistics PhD program.
