General Information

The Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Biostatistics is designed primarily for applicants with a background in health sciences (such as graduates of Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy) in order to enable them to plan, conduct, and analyze more accurate and high-impact research within their respective professional fields. Within the scope of this program, students are provided with fundamental biostatistics education through practice-oriented courses.

Goals

Become familiar with basic and advanced biostatistical methods used in health research, analyze data obtained from clinical and field studies using appropriate statistical techniques, effectively use statistical results in clinical decision-making processes, and critically evaluate scientific publications from a statistical perspective.

Objectives

The program aims to train healthcare professionals who are able to work with health-specific data, effectively use statistical software packages, interpret clinical and epidemiological data to contribute to evidence-based practices, and produce practice-oriented term projects rather than academic theses.

Specific Admission Requirements

Applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree from a Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, or from the Midwifery or Nursing departments of a Faculty of Health Sciences.

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a Non-Thesis Master’s Degree in Biostatistics.
