Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge about microorganisms, infection control, hygiene rules and sterilization methods. It is aimed for them to understand the importance of hygiene in the beauty and care sector and to adopt sterile working principles during professional practices.

Course Content

Basic Principles of Microbiology, Classification and properties of microorganisms. Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi and Parasites, Introduction of microorganisms that cause infections. Infectious Diseases, Ways of transmission, prevention methods and hygiene practices. Immune System and Defense Mechanisms, Ways of protecting the body against infections. Sterilization and Disinfection Methods, Physical and chemical sterilization techniques. Hygiene Rules, The importance of hygiene in the beauty and care industry. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), gloves, mask, creating a sterile working environment. Hygiene Procedures in the Field of Beauty and Aesthetics, Hygiene standards in skin care and cosmetic applications. Sterilization Devices and Their Use, Autoclave, UV sterilizers and chemical disinfection methods. Waste Management and Biological Risks, Management of medical waste and its environmental effects.
