Course Goal / Objective
Biophysics tries to formulate problems related to living organisms with physical concepts and to solve them with the laws of physics.
Course Content
Molecular structure of living systems, life molecules (proteins, carbohydrates, fats), biophysical evaluation of molecules, cell membranes, structure and function relationship, Transport and transports in cell membranes (Simple Diffusion, Active Transport, etc.), Channels and pumps that play a role in transport and transport (Ion Channels, Voltage Dependent Channels, ATPase Pump etc.), Bioenergetics (Free Energy and Energy Transfer in Living Things), Thermodynamics (Entropy, Enthalpy etc.), ATP and Chemical Energy Conduction, Mechanical, Kinetic and Heat Energy Conduction, Stable and Unstable State of the Cell,, Nernst Equilibrium Potential, Gibbs-Donnan Rule, Resting Dice and Action Potential
