General Information
The Department of Physical Education Teaching, which was established under the Çukurova University Faculty of Education, started undergraduate education in 1987 and graduate education in 1991. In 1994, with the decision of the Council of Ministers, it was transformed into Çukurova University School of Physical Education and Sports. Our school became the Faculty of Sports Sciences in 2020 with the Presidential Decree. Students who graduate from the Department of Physical Education Teaching of our faculty are teachers in primary, secondary and higher education institutions, administrators and trainers in central and provincial organizations affiliated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, trainers, monitors and conditioners in sports clubs, specialists and experts in sports-related units of military organizations. He can work as a sports coordinator and animator in the tourism sector. Within the body of Çukurova University Faculty of Sports Sciences, ERASMUS for international exchange and FARABI program for national exchange are carried out for double major and minor programs. The main purpose of the Department of Physical Education Teaching is to train teachers for the second level of primary education and high schools.

Feature & Definition
Theoretical and applied field courses, teaching profession courses and general culture courses are taught in the program. At the end of 4 years of education, department students can graduate by completing at least 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits and completing their internship in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in two semesters.

Goals
The main purpose of the Department of Physical Education and Sports is to train Physical Education and Sports Teachers for state and private education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.
Objectives
To train teachers who understand the requirements of the physical education and sports teaching profession, who can use their professional knowledge and skills, measurement and evaluation methods and techniques appropriately and effectively in different learning and teaching environments, who can provide basic education in different sports branches within the field, and who can follow scientific and technological developments.
Specific Admission Requirements
To get the score specified in the regulation of the relevant year from YKS-TYT and to be successful in the Special Talent Exam of the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates of the Physical Education and Sports Teaching program are appointed as “Physical Education and Sports Teachers” to public and private education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education with the title of “Physical Education and Sports Teacher”.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
In order to obtain the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Bachelor's degree, it is necessary to complete 240 ECTS and to have a general academic average of at least 2.00 according to the quaternary system.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.
Internship
Department students complete the Teaching Practice course in two semesters in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.
Applied Course
Applied training includes Teaching Practice, Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Team sports (Football, Basketball, Handball, Volleyball), Racket Sports (Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis), Outdoor Sports (Orienteering, Trekking), Folk Dances, Folk Dances, Rhythm Applied training includes Teaching Practice, Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Team sports (Football, Basketball, Handball, Volleyball), Racket Sports (Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis), Outdoor Sports (Orienteering, Trekking), Folk Dances, Folk Dances, Rhythm Education and Dance classes are included.
Work Placement
The workplaces of the students are the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. For this reason, they receive training by doing internship under the Teaching Practice course for two semesters.
