General Information

The Machinery Program started education in the 2002-2003 academic year with evening education and in the 2010-2011 academic year with regular education. It continues its education-training activities under the Department of Machinery and Metal Technologies. The opening of new businesses in different sectors of today's industry and the spread of computer technologies have increased the need for qualified intermediate staff with knowledge, skills and equipment in the field of machinery and who are committed to professional ethics. In the current situation, the training of qualified machine technicians is of critical importance for the continuation and development of many different sectors. Feature & Definition

This program provides theoretical and practical training at the two-year associate degree level. Mechanical technicians with theoretical and practical knowledge who can work in all kinds of small, medium and large-scale businesses are trained. The program has a quota of 65 students and 2 school top students. Students are accepted based on TYT scores.

Goals

The aim of our department is to train qualified technical staff who have theoretical knowledge and application skills in the field of machine technologies, who are familiar with production processes and who can adapt to the current needs of the industry and technology sector. At the same time, it is aimed for graduates to adopt professional ethical values ​​and to have the necessary equipment to produce sustainable and innovative solutions.

Objectives

The program aims to provide students with a solid professional background in areas such as machine technologies, production processes, material science and automation. By reinforcing theoretical knowledge with practical applications, students are supported to gain laboratory and field experience. Education programs are updated by cooperating with the industry, and direct interaction with the sector is provided through internship and project opportunities. The competitiveness of graduates is increased with a quality-oriented education approach that follows technological innovations. It is aimed to raise individuals who are committed to ethical values, responsible and prone to teamwork. Innovative thinking skills are encouraged and they are provided with creative and practical solutions to the sector. In addition, environmentally friendly approaches are supported by raising awareness about green production technologies and the use of sustainable materials.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students can enroll in the program by obtaining a sufficient score from the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by The Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

The duration of our program is four semesters, two years. In order to graduate from the program, it is mandatory to take courses totaling 120 ECTS, 87 of which are compulsory and 33 are elective. Compulsory internship work must be completed, and students must have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, provided that there are no failed courses among the courses taken. Graduates are entitled to receive the Mechanical Department Associate Degree.

Access to Further Studies

Our graduates can transfer to DGS exams and related undergraduate programs as well as to related departments of Open Education faculties.

Internship

There is a compulsory internship of 30 working days.

Applied Course

Except for internship and workplace training, 65% of the courses in the program are theoretical and applied. Laboratory and workshop studies are carried out in the applied parts of the courses.

Work Placement

In the program, 3+1 education model is applied and in the fourth semester, students who want and meet the conditions can do Workplace Training in a workplace directed by the program.

Double Major, Additional Major & Exchange Possibilities

Program students have the opportunity to be accepted to exchange programs such as Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana.

Employment Opportunities

Machinery Program graduates; It is employed in the fields of production, maintenance, drawing and design in the companies which are manufacturing with and without chip. Within the scope of Production-Industry Cooperation Project, during the course of the student, practical training in various branches of business and also 20 days of internship, our students become intertwined with the applications in the industry and their knowledge and skills increase so that they have a very easy job finding opportunity.
