Course Goal / Objective

Fragrance Design and Application: Preparation of basic perfume and cologne formulations, creation of fragrance accords, and laboratory-scale fragrance creation processes. Industrial Applications and Feasibility: It aims to teach the application techniques of plant-based essences in various industrial sectors such as cosmetics, cleaning products, and textiles.

Course Content

Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) as Perfume Raw Materials: Chemical structures of plant-based essential oils, concretes, and absolutes; determination and classification of fragrance profiles (top, middle, and base notes).

Course Learning Outcomes

LO01 HStudents will be able to analyze the chemical components of medicinal and aromatic plants in terms of fragrance chemistry and use them in correct proportions within perfume formulations.
LO02 Students will gain the ability to design original fragrance creations and produce basic perfumes and colognes in a laboratory setting.
LO03 Students will understand the application methods of plant-based essential oils in different industrial sectors and conduct economic feasibility studies for these processes.
LO04 Students will be able to plan production in accordance with quality standards by following national and international legal regulations in the fragrance industry.
LO05 It has the ability to extract plant essential oil by assimilating chemistry knowledge and organic chemistry theoretical knowledge.
LO06 Oudors are categorized by essential oil.
LO07 It groups odours according to notes and can create perfume-like scents.
