Course Goal / Objective

The purpose of this course is to introduce the philosophers, groups of thinkers who have marked the history of political thought, understand their impact on todays political and economic structures and realize how the present mode of production affects politics.

Course Content

Political thought of Mesopotamia, Ancient Greece and Rome, Christian political thought in the Middle Age, Turkish and Islamic Political thought, developments in European political thought between the beginnings of Early Modern Age and 20th century.
