Course Goal / Objective

Students will have the basic knowledge of the English sound system; they will learn about the pronunciation of individual sounds and how their pronunciation differ when combined with other individual sounds, the International Phonetic Alphabet, and the prosodic features of English such as stress, rhythm, intonation and practice them in the classroom.

LO01 Students will learn about the basics of the English sound system.
LO02 Students will learn the correct pronunciation of individual sounds and how their pronunciation change when interact with other individual sounds.
LO03 Students will learn the International Phonetic Alphabet.
LO04 Students will learn about the prosodic features of English such as stress, rhythm and intonation and try to put them into practice.
