Course Goal / Objective
The importance of infectious diseases, general properties, prevention of communicable diseases .The recognition of frequent community and hospital infections, teaching the disinfection and sterilization procedures and giving information about infections for to protect people and envirenment, are aimed.
Course Content
Course contents includes Epidemiology of nasocomial infections (definition, nasocomial infections sites, urinary tract infestions, surgical site infection, nasocomial pneumonia, nasocomial bacteraemia, İnfection control programme (National or regional, hospital), Infection control responsibility, Nasocomial infections surveillance, Prevention of nasocomial infections, Nasocomial respiratory infections (ventilator-associated pneumonia in the intensive care unit, surgical unit), Infections associated with intravasculer lines , Infection control precautions in patient care Standart precautions, additional precautions for specific modes of transmission, Environment, Antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance
