Course Goal / Objective

Aim of this course is to realize how popular culture is mediated in our everyday lives within the differences that make up the cultural partnership and comprehensive content targeted. The emergence of popular cultures, the dominant cultural form of industrial society, production-consumption processes, economic and ideological interactions. Analyzes of the determinations and opposing views that popular cultures are intertwined with today's manifestations, culture industry and media processes, and have an ideological content.

Course Content

In this course, modernization theory and the basic features of the theory will be discussed. Transition from traditional society to the stages of this process. the transition to modern society, as well as criticism of the theory of modernization will be discussed. Popular culture in our daily lives will be analyzed within aspects of ideology and the consumer society.
