Course Goal / Objective
The course which aims students to internalize and utilize Content Analysis Methododology-a widely used research tool in many areas of Social Sciences, will enable them by the end of the academic term, to deduce, evaluate and uncover the overt or implicit meanings of any human or technology-product that has a ontent through systematic and more objective ways. Students are also expected to conceptualize the qualitative data through both quantitative and qualitative perspectives in a scientific manner.
Course Content
Starting with the introduction of a brief historical development, the course presents the basic features of Content analysis as a research methodology employed in social sciences., along with the scope and functions of this method in comparison with some other research metohds in the field. Also presented are the different techniques employed under Content Analysis such as Frequency analysis, Categorical and Evaluative analysis etc. techniques. After familiarizing students with the given method through examining different research samples, and steps used during the analyses, they will be guided to carry on their individual research using the C.A method through classroom applications such as peer- discussions and tutorials by the instructor.
