Course Goal / Objective

To teach the modern greenhouse productin techniques of tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, melon, squash etc.

Course Content

The production of the most important greenhouse vegetables in the World and in Turkey like tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, melon, squash etc are investigated. The properties of the greenhouse production periods, popular vegetable varieties, the environmental and climatical requirements of the vegetables (temperature, relative humidity, lighting etc.), plant density in transplanting, pruning, fertigation schedules, water requirements, pollination, CO2 fertilization, soilless growing requirements, diseases and pest of the each vegetable species are investigated in detail.
