Course Goal / Objective

Introduction to fundamental principles of solid wastes (sources, types, collection, transfer, transport, recovery and disposal methods) and application to engineering problems.

Course Content

Generation of solid wastes; On-site handling, storage and processing; Collection, transfer and transport of solid wastes; Processing techniques and equipment; Recovery of resources, conversion products and energy; Disposal methods for solid wasteser; Sanitary landfils, incineration, composting and other techniques.
