Course Goal / Objective

Introduction to fundamental principles of water and wastewater sludges ( sources, quantities, characteristics and treatment methods) and application to engineering problems

Course Content

Sources, quantities and characteristics of sludge produced from water and wastewater treatment plants; Treatment and disposal methods: stabilization, pumping, conditioning, thickening, dewatering, drying, composting,combustion and ultimate disposal
