Course Goal / Objective
To determine the threat and risks that are likely to be encountered beforehand and to take measures during geological investigations, within the scope of ensuring occupational security.
Course Content
Introduction, Occupational Safety Legislation and the Importance in Earth Sciences, Environmental conditions of geological studies, Work safety related to the accidents forming in the field, risk management and evaluation, Personal protective equipment to be used during field work, Occupational safety in existing laboratories (i.e. Geochemistry, XRD, Thin section, sample preparation), Risks posed by the selection of faulty locations in oil-water drilling studies, Occupational safety in hazardous and hazardous environments in solid waste areas, Geological factors causing the disease, Occupational health and safety in excavation work, Risks and precautions created by unsafe slope analysis in open excavation, Determination of slope areas in the areas where landslides occur and prevention of possible hazards, Risks and precautions in the methods applied during the acquisition of geophysics-seismic data.
