Course Goal / Objective
To achieve the fundamental knowledge on transformer design and operation,to analyze the circuit modeling of three-phase connection types,operation modes and analyze fault current in the circuit.
Course Content
Magnetism and related core issues,circuit model of a two-winding transformer with core,reactance and leakage reactance calculations,three-phase connections, and symmetrical components,fault current analysis,phase-shifting and zig-zag transformers ,multiterminal three-phase transformer model,mechanical design of transformers,electric field calculations,capacitance calculations,voltage breakdown and high-voltage design,losses on transformers,thermal design
