Course Goal / Objective

Know basic knowledge about the common diseases in the elderly and general precautions for the prevention of complications, have basic knowledge about the modalities, recognize walking aid used by the elderly, know basic knowledge about the osteoporosis and nutrition, fraility and falls in the elderly

Course Content

Walking aids, splints and braces, Presentation of Unit of Physical Therapy, osteoarthritis and the joint protection, orthopedic rehabilitation, introduction to rheumatologic diseases, inflammatory arthritis in the elderly, falls,Fraility, COPD and pulmonary rehabilitation, osteoporosis, nutrition and exercise in the osteoporosis , neurologic rehabilitation (stroke, hemiplegia), limb prostheses

LO02 The walking aid used in the elderly population recognizes splints and orthoses and explains how to use them.
LO03 Learns basic knowledge about osteoarthritis and explains joint protection measures.
LO04 Disclose the terms of falling and indulgence, take precautions to prevent complications that may arise from them, and disclose them.
LO05 Explains what COPD is, they explain the basic principles of pulmonary rehabilitation.
LO06 Explain what osteoporosis is, explain the risk factors, and explain basic nutrition information on osteoporosis.
LO07 Explains basic information about orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation applied in the elderly.
