Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to give information about production, areas of fruit species and varieties grown in Turkey and in the World, to explain the problems of growing areas and cultivation, harvesting and storage, to teach principles and concepts of fruit growing.

Course Content

This course concentrates on fruit growing, production, area, trade in Turkey and in the World, fruit bud formation, chilling requirement, pollination, fertilization, propagation of fruit trees, management of fruit orchards, cultural systems, pruning, harvesting, postharvst physiogy, quality analysis of fruits.
