Course Goal / Objective
To teach application of biotechnology in horticulture theoretically and practically
Course Content
Introduction to biotechnology and biotechnology in horticulture, meristem and shoot tip culture in horticulture, embryo rescue in horticulture, single nodle and tissue culture cutting in horticulture, haploidization with anter culture in horticulture, gynogenesis in horticulture, somatic embryogenesis with organogenesis in horticulture, units in nucleic acid applications, solutions and buffers, DNA isolation from plant tissues, quantification and qualification of isolated DNA, Polymerase chain reaction, marker assisted selection, molecular marker techniques and evaluation of the data
