Course Goal / Objective

This course focuses on the study of language in historical and social contexts, language change, language families and areas, writing systems.

Course Content

The topics to be covered include Scociolinguistics, Pragmatics, Language History and Change, Writing systems.

LO06 Defines the fundamental concepts of syntax and explains the historical development of the field of syntax.
LO07 Compares the semantic features of Turkish and English and analyzes the differences in meaning structures between these languages.
