Course Goal / Objective

Introduction to Communication course aims to give an understanding of the importance of communication within a frame of basic information, key concepts and theoretical discussions. Graduate students of this course who plan to have professional jobs in communications will be able to take a step into an academic area where the knowledge comes within aspiration for intellectual creativity.

Course Content

Content of the course is as follows: process of communication, forms of communication, selective reception and perception, attitudes, mass media, historical transformation from writing to internet, the attraction of audio-visual communication, movies, radio and television; popular culture and Cultural Studies, research methods in Communication Studies; News, Adverts, media industry, national and global communication systems, media and ethics and ethics of profession.
