Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to help students notice the relationship between language and society and raise their awareness of how language practice differs depending on regional and social differences in the society.

Course Content

This course deals with the relationship between language and society, basic concepts and terms and how social and regional differences have an impact on language use. The relationship between language and culture and language planning issues will also be covered in the course.
