Course Goal / Objective
To get the students comprehend the historical background of the foundation of Modern Turkey, to have an opinion related to the foundation of modern Turkish Republic with regards to the last term of Ottoman Empire, gain the ability to analyze the modernization problems, be informed about the birth of democracy, its development and practice.
Course Content
The main focus of this course to inform students about the Westernization movements in modern Ottoman Period, and modernization of Turkey in the years of Constitutional Monarchy and modernization of Republican Period and education
