Course Goal / Objective
To provide information about geology, all the concepts and rules, and to teach to use thisinformation in other disciplines.
Course Content
Introduction/ General properties of earth; interior of earth, surface and surface structures/ Rock forming and ore minerals/ Magmatism and magmatic rocks/ Sedimantation and sedimentary rocks/ Metamorphism and metamorphic rocks/ Precipitate mediums/ Stratigrafi and principles/ Structural geology; folds, fractures, joints and faults/ Geologic time scale/ Plate techonics/ Lithospheric movements: plutonism, volcanism, earthquakes and reasons/ Maps; scales, divisions, contours and topographic maps, legends, point definition systems, topographic cross-sections/ Concept of strike and dip of strata/ Usage of geologic compass.
