Course Goal / Objective

Understanding the importance of Geographical Visualization. Providing effective presentation of geographic information produced by GIS with relevant analysis and techniques through maps.

Course Content

What is a Geographic Visualization. Concept, tools and applications. Purpose of geographic visualization. Visual thinking. Cartographic design for GIS. Geographical values. Visualization methods and techniques in GIS. Spatial data, 2D cartographic visualization, 3D cartographic visualization, Visual data tools, Animation, Spatial-Temporal visualization, Interactive user interfaces, future trends for visualization.
