Course Goal / Objective
To learn basic design criteria for water treatment processes and to understand how to maximize overall process efficiency through design approaches while minimizing costs; To cover practical design as well as construction procedures for actual water treatment design and construction practices; To provide experiences in realistic civil and environmental engineering design and construction practice
Course Content
Potable water sources. Chemical, physical and biological properties of potable water. Water analyses, water quality standards, potable water treatment models, sieves, grits, bars, settling, filters, water softening, disinfection, water treatment processes and design criteria.
