Course Goal / Objective

Introduce solids and crystals. The aim of the course is to recognize the structures, characterization and properties of solids.

Course Content

Solids properties, structure, crystal symmetry, defects, bonding in solids, X-ray diffraction, neutron and electron diffraction and properties, electrical properties of crystals, superconductivity, magnetic and optical properties of crystals.
