Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the course is to help students comprehend, with musical analysis methods, the structural features of the works selected from the development stages of polyphonic music , especially from 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th century repertoire, and these analysis are intended to contribute to composing.
Course Content
The works selected from music repertoire are examined either 'Partition Analysis on' or 'listening Analysis' methods. Harmony analysis carried out on partition form a basis for the explanation of forms. The structural characteristics of works are comparatively studied.
