Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this lecture is to teach the characteristics of the principal types of mechanical members and to teach the design methods of machine members including shafts, mechanical springs, gears, journal bearings, selection of rolling contact bearings etc.
Course Content
Welding, Bonding, and the Design of permanent joints; Mechanical springs Rolling Contact Bearings; Lubrication and Journal Bearings Gearings - General Spur and Helical Gears Bevel and Worm Gears Clutches, Brakes, Couplings, and Flywheels, Flexible Mechanical Elements.
