Course Goal / Objective

Within this course, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD and T) principles for design, manufacturing and inspection are discussed in detail. The differces between ASME and ISO standards are also highlighted as well.

Course Content

Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing; GD and T Fundamentals; Datums; Form Tolerance; Orieantion Tolerance; Position Tolerances (General, Location and Coaxiality); Concentricity Tolerance; Symmetry Tolerance; Runout Tolerance; Profile Tolerance; Graphic Analysis; A Strategy for Tolerancing Parts; The differences between ISO and ASME Standards; Gaging Principles.
