Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to analyse the events that are caused by important political and social changes. At the same time it aims to examine phases from empiral order to nation- state.

Course Content

Political Structure of the Ottoman Empire in the 18th and 19th Century, Multinational Social Structure of the Ottoman Empire, Migration Movements of the 19th and 20th Century, Relations Between Ethnic Groups, Armenian Community, Greek Community, Political Structure Before First World War, First World War and Results, Anatolia and the War Between the years 1920-22, Organization and Structure of the Turkish Parliament, The Treaty of Lausanne, The Exchange of Population, Nation State Building, Turkish Republic and Economic Restructuring.
