Course Goal / Objective

The aims of this course are to make the students to explain the significance of nutrition; to learn about the ways of healthy nutrition; to determine the inadequate and unhealthy nutrition based problems; and lastly to choose the right foods for a healthy diet.

Course Content

The definition, importance and components of nutrition; high nutritional value foods; the diets of pregnant and breast feeding women; the harms of unhealthy nutrition; nutrition problems in children; appropriate foods for 0-6 aged children; preparation of menus for pre-school period; the health and hygiene rules in food preparation process.
