Course Goal / Objective

Within the scope of this course, scientific production methods and principles of insects and mites will be discussed, mass production of parasitoids and predators used in Biological Control of insects and mites, which are harmful especially in cultivated plants; Subjects will be dealt with practically based on Acarina, Thysanoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, Neuroptera and Hymenoptera teams.

Course Content

In scientific studies to be carried out with insects and mites, production for observation and trial purposes is a necessity, especially in their recognition, revealing their biology and ecological demands. In addition, mass production of both harmful species and useful species is carried out in pest control. For this purpose, the production techniques of insect and mite species and the ways to be followed will be taught in this course.
