Course Goal / Objective

It aims to teach the separation of socioscientific and non-socioscientific subjects in science education. It aims to examine the methods and techniques applied in teaching socioscientific issues and to teach the purposes of using these techniques.

Course Content

It consists of discussing social problems arising from science and technological developments in daily life, providing basic information about these issues, teaching the ability to develop arguments based on evidence about socioscientific issues, and giving information about the use and importance of moral values when deciding on the right to SBS. Science and technology literacy in general, Socioscientific issues (SBK), characteristics and dimensions of SSI, what makes SSI different SSI and argumentation, how to manage the SSC discussion process in the classroom, etc. includes topics.
