Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the biotechnological methods in plant pathogen fungi. For this purpose, it is to amplify the spesific genes used in molecular diagnostic by PCR-based methods and to perform phylogenetic tree by nucleotid alignment and to compare the results with molecular and traditional methods (morphological, cultural and physiological)

Course Content

Introduction and classification of fungi, molecular characterization of fungi purified from diseased plant tissue, phylogenetic analysis, classification by gene groups, gene transfer in fungi and application areas and methods of biotechnological methods

Course Precondition

Plant Fungi Diseases requirement

Resources

Introduction to Fungi (John Webster and Roland Weber, 2007 Cambridge University Press), Modern Mycology (J.W. Deacon, 2001, 3. Edition)Modern Mycology (J.W. Deacon, 2001, 3. Edition))
