Course Goal / Objective
Learn the basics of biosignals and biomedical applications producing from the muscles and nerves in the human body.
Course Content
Bioelectrical events in living organisms. İonic currents and ion channels, cell membranes and particle transport in biological systems. Resting potential and action potential in excitable cells. The role of action potentials in biological systems. The basic structures of analog or digital medical biopotential recording systems. Measurement of biopotential signals for medical purposes. The basic evaluation methods of biopotentials. Common biopotentials: Electrocardiogram, Electroencephalogram, Electromyogram, Evoked potentials, and others.
