Course Goal / Objective
The flood events that occur as a result of extreme rainfall events are an important concept in the planning of Water Resources. In this course, estimation methods of flood flow will be explained.
Course Content
Analysis of Exreme Events. Probability Concepts, Product Moments. Probability Weighted Moments and L- Moments. Distributions for Extreme Events; N, LN, LN3. General Extrem Value Distribution GEV, Power Distribution. Pearson Type 3 and Log-Pearson Type 3 Distributions. Probability Plots and Goodness-of- Fit Tests. Robustness Analysis, L- Moments Diagrams. Confidence Intervals for Quantiles.
