Course Goal / Objective
To give general information about geothermal energy resources, and to teach the calculation of geothermal energy potential of a region by using the geology, tectonics, hydrothermal alteration, geophysical results and drilling information, and also the ways of benefit from geothermal resources
Course Content
In Turkey and in the world, distribution and characteristics of the geothermal areas, geothermal terms and descriptions, geothermal energy concept, characteristics and classification of geothermal fields, heat source heat flow, thermal conductivity properties of rocks, understanding the place inside heat transfer problems and general solution methods, geothermal fields modeling and application of heat transfer, research and development in geothermal fields, potential estimation and calculation methods and applications in geothermal fields
