Course Goal / Objective
Introduction of fundemental concepts in solid mechanics. Modelling linear elastic behavior. Solving simple structural problems.
Course Content
Indicial notation. Elastic properties: Isotropic and anistropic materials. Kinematics. Deformation and strain tensors. Stress tensor. Stress-strain relations. Variational calculus. Energy principles. Beam and plate theories. Vibration and buckling analyses.
