Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the course is understanding the mechanics of weaving fabric by examining various geometric models; examining yarn and fabric covering factors and frequency theories.
Course Content
Woven Fabric Mechanics Geometrical Model of Pierce. Yarn Diameter and Number. Fabric Geometries of Ellipse Cross-Section. The Geometrical Model of Kemp. Geometric Model of Hamilton. Weft and Warp Covering Factors and Fabric Covering Factor. Covering Factors, Yarn Crimes and Texture Structure. Frequency Theories; Diameter intersection theories, limit frequency and weavable properties. Armitage and Brierley Theories. frequency of fabrics with different number of weft and warp. Size Changes in Woven Fabrics;
