Course Goal / Objective

Teaching the mechanical and electrical properties of muscles and bones

Course Content

Types of muscles, structure of skeletal muscles, molecular structure of skeletal muscles, sliding filament theory, isometric and isotonic contraction, Hill equation, contraction and heat generation, neuromuscular junction, muscle action potential, motor unit and characteristics, motor unit area and innervation region, motor unit action potential, factors determining MUP parameters, mechanical properties of bones, piezoelectricity, homework1,2,3
