Course Content

General information about developmental biology and genetics. Formation of zygote, beginning of division, beginning of differentiation, morphogenesis, growth and organism formation. Stem Cells (Totipotent stem cells, Pluripotent stem cells, Multipotent stem cells). Embryonic development and factors affecting cell differentiation. The effect of nucleus. Cytoplasm content and effect of segmentation. Cell-cell effect (Hormones and Environmental Factors). Genome equivalence. Cloning. Genes that are effective in development. Double on-off systems. Maternal-acting genes in embryo formation. Zygotic genes in embryo formation. Drosophyla also segmentation model. The genes involved in this model are; Gap genes. Drosophyla also segmentation model.
